Copyright Policy

Last updated: June 9, 2026

ROLESPACEME respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of rolespace.me (the "Website") to do the same. This Copyright Policy explains how we handle copyright-related matters on the Website.

ROLESPACEME Intellectual Property

The Website and its original content — including but not limited to its design, layout, logo, graphics, text, and software — are the property of ROLESPACEME and are protected under applicable copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, republish, download, display, post, or transmit any portion of the Website in any form or by any means without the prior written consent of ROLESPACEME.

User Generated Content and Copyright

When you post content to the Website — including profile text, images, roleplay writing, bulletins, or comments — you represent and warrant that you own that content or have the necessary rights and permissions to post it. You retain copyright ownership of your own creative work.

By submitting content to the Website, you grant ROLESPACEME a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, store, and distribute that content for the purpose of operating the Website. This license ends if you delete the content, subject to any content that has already been shared or cached.

Prohibited Use of Copyrighted Material

You may not post or upload content on the Website that infringes the copyright of any third party. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Copying and reposting another creator's writing, artwork, or photography without attribution or permission;
  • Uploading images, audio, or video files that you do not own or have a license to use;
  • Using another person's roleplay character, persona, or original world-building without their express consent;
  • Posting lyrics, scripts, or excerpts of published works beyond what is permitted under fair use.

DMCA Takedown Requests

If you believe that content on the Website infringes your copyright, you may submit a Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) takedown notice to ROLESPACEME. Your notice must include:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent;
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed;
  3. Identification of the material on the Website that is claimed to be infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it;
  4. Your contact information (name, address, telephone number, and email address);
  5. A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner; and
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on their behalf.

DMCA notices may be submitted to: dmca@rolespace.me

Counter-Notices

If you believe that content you posted was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice to ROLESPACEME at the address above. A counter-notice must meet the requirements of the DMCA and include your consent to the jurisdiction of the applicable federal court.

Repeat Infringer Policy

ROLESPACEME maintains a policy of terminating the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers of copyright. In appropriate circumstances, ROLESPACEME may also limit access to or disable the accounts of users who infringe any intellectual property rights of others, whether or not there is repeated infringement.

Fair Use

Nothing in this policy is intended to restrict your rights under applicable fair use or fair dealing doctrines. If you are unsure whether your use of copyrighted material constitutes fair use, we recommend consulting with a qualified legal professional.
